How Can I Get Involved?

There are many ways to be involved and make a difference in our local communities as well as metro Detroit, statewide, nationally and globally. The following are several great opportunities for you to make an impact.

Join the club or renew your membership

If you haven’t renewed in 2010 click here to join or renew.

Come to a meeting or event

You need energy to make a difference and connecting with the many great people in the club and our featured speakers will help boost yours. Meeting fellow Democrats locally who are new to us also boosts our energy.

Be one of our subject matter experts

Many public policy questions have become so complex that it’s difficult to make informed decisions as a layperson. However, you may have particular expertise and training that would be valuable in helping other members become more educated on the issues and be more informed and engaged citizens. If you’re willing and available for a meeting or phone call once or twice a year to provide your opinion to our executive board on pending issues in your area, let us know what your areas of expertise are and provide us your contact info.

Start a club initiative on an issue or join a local community organization focused on an issue of importance

For example, we're considering a club environmental initiative and are looking for volunteers to help work on it. If you

have a strong passion for environmental issues, let us know. There are many other important issues that require more

attention as well as other groups that are doing good things.

Volunteer your expertise or energy for one of our club’s committees

One great local opportunity is to work with one of our various club committees such as Membership, Communications

and Events. Committees typically meet between two and six times a year, so it’s not a huge commitment, but it is

important one. Drop us an email if you’re interested and we’ll follow-up with you to get you more information.

Volunteer on or donate to a campaign

We will list local, statewide, and national candidates that you may want to consider.
